Moving day was a huge success! My Mom was greeted with smiles and help from everyone. The staff and the other residents could not have been friendlier or more welcoming. I could never in my wildest dreams have imagined her being so satisfied! Of course, she may have awakened this morning in a different state of mind but yesterday was very happy day for her. She said she felt comfortable there and very independent. I really think this was the perfect place for all of us. Kudos to everyone. I have been to nearly every facility in Louisville and Parr’s has something truly special. I suggest you bottle whatever it is and sell it! Again, thanks so much for your help and guidance in getting to this point! I couldn’t have done it without you and your team.
My mother is Violet Lucille Simms who lived at Parrs at Springhurst from April 2011 until three weeks ago. During that time she was treated with total respect by loving and caring caregivers who are members/employees of your team. From Mary at the front desk, Greg in transportation, Doris in housekeeping, to the dining room staff and the nursing staff, they were always helpful, friendly and truly caring not only to my mother but to every resident. It definitely takes a special type of person to work in that environment and maintain a positive upbeat attitude. I never observed anything but that from the staff. You definitely have a very unique team at Parrs!
I can’t say enough GREAT things about the third floor nursing/care giving staff. It never made a difference if it was weekdays or weekends or nights, every person was truly helpful, personable and caring. I want to personally mention some names, but fear that I may leave someone out, as these people, in my opinion, always went over and above the call of duty. Not only did they provide the care needed, they exhibited friendship…true friendship to my mother. Of course, my mother recognized that and that made her very happy in an environment that she originally did not want to be.
Please extend my sincere appreciation to Bill, Cheryl, Nicki, Erika, Shelby, Judy, Greg, Doris, Kelly and Andrea.
Also feel free to share my email with the Board or others that you believe should know what a great job they do. I would be glad to serve as a reference if you have a family that may be considering Parrs at Springhurst. Feel free to call my cell phone if there is anything I can do to spread the good word about Parrs.
Parr’s Centennial 2014
Our first contact with Parr’s came in 2003 when we were selecting a Personal Care Facility for my mother-in-law. We evaluated ten facilities, selected four which best met our criteria and took her to visit the four. She was very impressed with the reception we received, the arrangement of the facility and rooms, and the staff and residents she met. So, Parr’s it was. She lived there for 5 years and in 2008 transferred to the nursing home.
Fast forward to 2012. We were selecting a Personal Care Facility for my mother. Again, we evaluated several facilities as relates to our criteria and visited four of those with my mom for her observations. She was comfortable with the reception she received, the arrangement of the facility and rooms, and the staff and residents she met. So again, Parr’s was selected and she still has an apartment there.
From the perspective of family, Parr’s met our list of criteria, some of which are listed below:
- a secure environment which administers medication and medical care,
- a daily exercise program,
- an active social environment with individual encouragement and support,
- healthy food choices,
- qualified and caring staff with longevity.
Even though no organization can be perfect, Parr’s works to resolve issues and to provide a high standard for the facility. My mother is happy and your facility provides our family with peace of mind.
Viola and Larry Williams
I have served as the geriatric psychiatric consultant at Parrs for the past 6 years. The quality of the facility and its staff are second to none in the Louisville community. Each elder is given individualized attention according to their need in a loving and caring environment. For the last 100 years Parrs has served the Louisville community and continues their mission into the future. We are a better city with their presence.
My father passed away this morning at the age of 89… We would like to say thanks to the Parr’s facility nurses and employees. Every single person we ever encountered at Parr’s was kind and loving. My brother and I are truly thankful for the care given to my dad at Parr’s.
I have to say, if you are in search of the top facility in Jefferson County for your loved one – this is the place, hands down. My mother moved to Parrs at Springhurst (the assisted living side) about 4 years ago. Her need for care this past year, graduated her to Springhurst Heath and Rehab (full skilled care side). As the only family member, living 800 miles away, I could not be more at ease with the level of care she is receiving. The staff is attentive, caring, human and above all genuine. They are simply Angels who walk among us – I truly feel blessed by their help.
Recently my 93 year old mother (who had dementia)passed. The people at Springhurst Health and Rehab, have been so very caring and supportive. Several staff members came to her memorial service, we received hugs along the way, and words of encouragement and condolences from many of the staff and administrators.. I have been impressed with the care they have received at Springhurst Health and Rehab….. Thank you so very much!!
